How we charge for postage
UK Deliveries
As a result of the new pricing in proportion rates from Royal Mail we are now able to mail all items with the cost calculated dependant upon the weight and dimensions of your order.
Your orders will be despatched using your chosen method at the checkout. We offer wherever possible Royal Mail tracked 24 & 48 services, Royal Mail Special Delivery or a courier service (DPD/DHL). We try to be fair with our postage rates, we never charge you more than it costs us. Retailers that offer free postage have normally front end loaded thier product in advance with a levy for postage & packaging effectively meaning you are paying for postage with every item you add to your cart. We offer an economy option wherever possible, however we are restricted by the Royal Mail to 2Kg for 2nd Class/48 parcels so any order weighing in excess of this will be offerred 1st Class/24 or courier services only.
We don't include postage in our prices because if you ordered two items from us, then you would end up paying postage twice. We think this is fair to all our customers whether they buy one item or many.
If you place your order today (Mon - Fri) before 3.00pm you may well receive it tomorrow, but that is only guaranteed with the Special Delivery and Next Day Delivery options.
The majority of our packages are sent out to you by Royal Mail (RM) due to their weight being less than one kilogram. At the moment RM appear to be the only organisation that actually deliver these lightweight packages to your door, therefore we are unable to turn to any other company to get our delivery to you at our usual postage rates. During times of industrial disputes or severe weather we urge you to carry on ordering and we will do our best to keep sending out parcels.
We strongly recommend that customers pick a delivery that suits their time scales, we often see RM 48 take in excess of 14 working days to move through their Super Hubs. Customers ordering bespoke items should be aware that due to the specific claims process that RM has introduced we cannot re-despatch until we meet their terms and a refund is authorised. This process can take in excess of 2 months and customers are therefore urged to pick a courier service for these.
Exports
We think the fairest way to charge export postage is to charge according to where you are in the world and not charge you the UK VAT (purchase tax) if you are outside the EU (European Community).
European Customers will be pleased to know that we have registered with the IOSS Scheme, whereby we charge you your country's VAT rate which we then pay over on your behalf, so that your goods should not be subjected to import duties as they arrive at their destination and as a result should be delivered quicker to you. Our shopping cart has the facility to weigh the items that you have placed in the cart and calculate the cost using the latest price list from Royal Mail. You can be rest assured that we do not profit from postage, we charge exactly what Royal Mail charges us. They have strict guidelines with regards to exports with the maximum weight of each parcel (2kg) and sizes, hence we sometimes may have to despatch your items in multiple shipments on the same day.
For estimates of delivery rates to other countries select your items and proceed to the check out to view postage amount. You will not be obliged to order.
