Product Description
(Supplied on a CD) The original map (drawn at a scale of just under 5 inches to the mile) bears no date but is estimated to be about 1940 because of various features including the hospital names which changed in the late 1930s, the fact that the tramways (closed 1935) are still shown and that Thursby Gardens in Colne Road are still show even though the Platers & Stampers factory was opened there in 1937.
The coverage of the map is from Round Wood and Reedley Lodge on the north to the Bull & Butcher Inn and Townley Park in the south and from Padiham and Hapton in the west to Harle Syke and Heckenhurst Reservoirs in the east.
In addition to the map the CD contains a complete street index as included in the original publication.
The map is scanned onto the CD at 200 dpi as 6 overlapping tiles.
