As with many of these directories, the map was missing from the copy used for scanning when we obtained it. In addition, the title page was missing. The remainder of the directory (over 760 scanned images) is complete and comprises: Introductory article; Local information; List of streets; Southport street classification; Alphabetical classification; Trades classification; Formby street classification; Formby alphabetical classification; Formby trades classification; Banks directory.
The binding of this book is tight and some pages have very little margin at the centre binding. The result is that a number of scans contain the edges of adjacent pages. As the alternative was to destroy a rare book this was felt to be the lesser of two evils.
