Product Description
The map (supplied on a CD) was originally published at a scale of 6 inches to the mile. It is printed with a grid of six rows (1 to 6) and eight columns (A to H).
It is not dated but is thought to be about 1930. It definitely post-dates 1923 as the railway lines are shown as being LMS. It shows the Devonshire Royal Hospital as simply Devonshire and the Playhouse as the Hippodrome (these were renamed in 1934 and 1935 respectively).
Coverage is from Watford Wood in the north west and Stanley Moor in the south west to Waterswallows in the north east and Turfa Plantation in the south east.
The CD also includes a Street Index.
The map is scanned onto the CD as 3 overlapping tiles:
Rows 1 to 6 and columns A to D.
Rows 1 to 6 and columns C to F.
Rows 1 to 6 and columns E to H.
The three sections have subsequently been stitched together. All four scans are included on the CD.
